Early events will prove whether the community is real.

We can begin with pop-up conversations and workshops long before there is a permanent MakeMaryland facility.

Low-cost, high-signal events.

The goal is not polished programming yet. The goal is to see who shows up, what they want, and who wants to help.

Event 1

Coffee & Prototypes

A relaxed meet-and-greet for people who like making things. Bring ideas, questions, prototypes, or curiosity.

Event 2

AI for Everyday People

Practical ways to use AI tools for work, learning, planning, creativity, and simple coding.

Event 3

Intro to 3D Printing

How FDM printing works, what to buy, what materials matter, and what beginners should avoid.

Event 4

ESP32 in One Hour

A beginner-friendly look at Wi-Fi microcontrollers, sensors, and smart projects.

Event 5

Designing for Laser Cutting

The basics of design, materials, kerf, engraving, cutting, and project planning.

Event 6

Meet Other Makers Night

A simple community gathering to connect builders, teachers, parents, students, and entrepreneurs.

No permanent lease required.

Early events can be hosted in library rooms, community spaces, restaurants, churches, schools, coworking rooms, business conference rooms, or partner locations.

If 20–30 people show up repeatedly, the space decision gets much easier.

Attendance is stronger evidence than website traffic or social likes.
